July 2010

Tuesday, July 20 2010
Today is the first music class with Mr. Herry Rajasa. To begin the class there was an introduction by Mr. Herry Rajasa. Then he gave us a paper to write the instrument that we want to choose. I wrote my name, my class and piano for the instrument that I chose. There were seven students chose piano but the maximum number of students for piano is six so, there will be two auditions to eliminate one of us. Mr. Herry asked us to stand in front of the class. Obviously, there was a hearing audition- the first audition. I did it so bad because I was so nervous and I'm not good at hearing. The second audition for the next meeting is playing piano. So, I will prepare for the next audition.

First Mr. Herry checked our resources then we discussed about the instrument class. Mr. Harry Wisnu- the saxophone and flute teacher and Mr. Sadrakh- the violin teacher promoted their instrument class. They explained about their music classes and they played some demo, it was very good and it impressed me. I was very glad as there's no piano audition because one of the piano candidates moved into art class. So, there's just a guitar audition and some students had to move to saxophone/flute or violin class. Mr. Herry asked us (piano students) to practice our scale so, I will practice it.

As usual, Mr. Herry checked our resources and he gave us a paper of  "Heal the World- Michael Jackson" and "Always on My Mind- Michael Buble" lyric. After we heard  "Always on My Mind" we sang together, group by group. I couldn't really sing the song because it was new for me. For next meeting there will be a singing rehearsal for singing assessment.

Piano Class
In this session, each of us played scale from C-B. I got the fifth turn and I was so nervous. I didn't do it very well and I have to repeat it. So, I will practice more.

Mr. Herry checked our resources to start the class then he told us  about how to post our reflection in the blog and helped us make our own blog. After that, the singing rehearsal began. I got the last turn but I was still very nervous and I had a sore-throat. I did it quite well but Mr. Harry said that I need to be more confident and practice my pitch. So, I will practice for the singing assessment next Tuesday.
